Police are looking for a conman who stole an elderly ladies bank card and went on a £6000 spending spree. The elderly ladies ordeal began when she received a telephone call from a man pretending to be from her local council in Brighton. He convinced the lady that she needed some work doing on her drains. Moments after a man arrived at the door pretending to be from the ladies council. He claimed that he needed her bank card to process a £25 deposit so he could carry out the works needed. The lady handed him the card and she never saw him again. The incident happened on the 31st of January. Attempts to track down the male have failed.
